Prepare for day one

What to wear

We have a business casual approach. You’ll hear people call it "dress for your day." There’s no reason to overdo it with formal wear for Day One, but don’t undersell yourself with sweatpants and a hoodie either. Khakis are always a great option, as Jake, from State Farm, would tell you.

Don’t sweat the decision. Think about the impression you want to make and take it from there.

What to bring and things to review

You won’t need much, but a few essentials will keep your day running smoothly. Don’t leave home without:

  • Driver’s license/ID
  • Banking information (name and routing number) for Direct Deposit
  • Lunch/Lunch money
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Current, valid documents verifying your identity and work authorization as required for Form I-9. These must be original documents, not photocopies or pictures.
  • Review the Intellectual Property Agreement that will be required once you start.
  • Take a look at the Federal W-4 and State tax information, Form W-4 and Tax Worksheets. You’ll get instructions for submitting your tax withholdings information through the Employee Self-Service site on our intranet.

Where to go

Check out your welcome letter for specific instructions on where to report on your first day. You’ll go through the Security entrance until you get an employee badge.

      • Wear a face covering until 10 days from symptom onset (or positive test if no symptoms)
      • Individuals working in California: may return after 5 days if symptoms are improving and if they test negative on day 5. If they do not test, they may return after 10 days from symptom onset (or positive test if no symptoms).
